Variety and Price

I really do like using CT2Learn because there are a variety of books and resources that can be accessed for a reasonable membership price. For example, my Homeland Security class requires us to access different sources and books, through the website we can access those books and sources. In addition, we do not have to go to a research library to search for needed materials.

Portability

Initially, I thought that I would prefer a book in my hands, which at times I still do, but for my school assignments, CT2Learn works out much better. It saves me time and I can access it from my place of work, if I need to, without dragging a heavy book along with me on the bus which I take to and from work each day. The other feature I like is the option of being able to copy and paste terms, which is faster than typing it all up from a book.

Multiple Perspectives

I feel that I am learning more about my subject by accessing these different kinds of resources because every resource has a different perspective on the subject being studied. In other words, you are allowed to see things from different viewpoints instead of just one like you would with a regular textbook.

Device Support

The best part is the format and the site being easy to navigate. You can also access the website on different devices such as desktop computers, laptops, tablets and your mobile phone.

CT2Learn is the best available accommodation for students. Many students are limited to the amount of classes they can take due to the cost of books. For the small price of this site, it becomes more attractive to take more classes. The affordability cannot be matched. I highly recommend this site and feel all other academic disciplines should use it as a service to their students.
The books available through this program have met with requirements needed for the classes I have developed. It is important to me to minimize the financial burden on my students and yet be able to provide them with modern and sound information. I have found this to be a valuable alternative for the classes I facilitate. Continuing the foundation of this textbook area is important.
Yes. I am always mindful of the expense students have related to their textbooks. I like that this is provided as an alternative and that students have the ability to choose either a semester fee or an annual fee to access materials.
Absolutely...First of all it is a great benefit to students from a financial perspective. Many of my students work full time to support families and every dime counts, so this is a big deal to them when I tell them that it will save a good amount of money. Second, they don't have to lug a group of books around to class or sit on the shelf at home after the class is over. Having the eBook to download is a great way to do it, as well, and I greatly encourage CT2Learn to continue down this path.

A! The eBook section is like a virtual library and provides a wealth of information. All classes are presented here and students or myself can read other material.
A! The Immersion Zone provides up-to-date news posts and very good lessons. The direct links to government law enforcement agencies or courts give students the ability to use statistics or gain information for classes and projects.
A! The Criminal Justice resources section provides short documents and readings to facilitate conversation topics in class. The web links and videos makes it a primary area of learning and one I often use.
A! Exploring CT2Learn Criminal Justice resources -- I would give an A grade as it helps students explore what resources are available and ensures that they know how to access them.
A! Course Modules - I would give an A grade. Each one is designed over a specific topic and allows students access to articles and PowerPoints which can facilitate interaction with others.
A! eBooks --I would also give an A grade. This helps reduce the costs students typically have to spend on textbooks.
Would you recommend the CT2Learn ELS to fellow instructors? Why or why not?

I have recommended CT2 learn to fellow instructors and professional organizations I am associated with. I find the Immersion Zone and the Bookshelf to be very beneficial for professionals. Additionally, in a time when our students are struggling to attend class, an effort to provide excellent academic material at a reasonable rate is very important. Also, the ability to add content quickly at one location and manage it at that location with links to numerous classes should be important for all instructors to ensure they are delivering the most accurate material to their students.

My entire department uses the application. I would definitely recommend it to other colleagues, but all my immediate colleagues currently use it.

This is a great question and the answer to that is a resounding YES!!! I often use CT2Learn information that I have presented in a classroom or online teaching environment when I speak to corporate businesses, schools, churches, and families, specifically information on identity theft, current events in policing, and community-oriented policing.
I do use ELS outside my teaching activities. I will use the material to conduct briefings or research for my professional work site. One area for possible growth in the law enforcement world may be current case law decisions by the Supreme Court and current case law decisions made by state Supreme Courts.
CT2Learn is different! Compared to using one textbook for your college course, how do you like using CT2Learn?

CT2learn has some great features. I mostly used the search feature that helped me find answers by using key words. I also liked the fact that I didn't have to lug heavy books around.

I like it much better. It provides more benefits than a textbook. It allows you to view multiple things and reduces the weight of actual books. It is better than books, because in the same area, you can find other needed resources.

Under Academic and Career Skills I found the Externship Excellence eLesson very informative. It talks about what to do, how to act, and much more during externship, similar to internships. This is a useful tool to know in order to approach the real world experience of your career.

The iMods provide an intro, a lesson, an activity and a knowledge check. This helps get you engaged on what is going on and how to do it. These iMods provide you a sense of learning you normally get in a classroom environment. Very informative and knowledgeable.

I have never heard of an iMod before, until today, and I have to say it’s pretty awesome. I looked into the Job Search Skills and the eLesson took me through a tutorial on how to search jobs and the tools I will need to complete this task.

I like using it better than a textbook because there is more up-to-date information. There are links and articles that are relevant now, not just when a book was written.

I enjoy using the site for my classes. With the portability of my laptop or tablet, I can access my materials and work on my assignments anywhere.

I am getting a better understanding of the course using the CT2Learn membership. Not only is my course information and book available, but we can also access interactive learning tools to help us dive deeper into the subject, and the videos really help give your mind a break from reading page after page, too.
